Earlier this year, Auckland Transport consulted on a new raised pedestrian crossing on Exmouth Road near the entrance to Onepoto Domain. This will help to improve safety for pedestrians using the bus stops, and also help to connect Onepoto Domain with Tuff Crater Reserve. As part of this project, both bus stops will be relocated.
Following public feedback, AT have made some changes to the original design including:
- Relocating the existing bus stop and shelter on the north side of the street opposite the Onepoto Domain entrance to opposite 81 Exmouth Road.
- Relocating the existing bus stop at 77 Exmouth Road to 73 Exmouth Road.
- Installing the raised zebra crossing between the bus stops near the entrance to Onepoto Domain.
- The removal of approximately 15 parking spaces rather than the 18 parking spaces originally proposed.
AT anticipate that the crossing will be constructed in 2022-23.
