It seems that Auckland Transport blame Kāinga Ora/Piritahi for not talking to them in the planning stages, resulting in the need to remove and rebuild the Lake Rd/Northcote Rd/Ocean View Rd roundabout, however in the end, Auckland Transport contributed towards the cost.

“Kaipātiki Local Board chair John Gillon said it “beggars belief” that the first roundabout was removed less than three years after it was built.”
