There is a tsunami warning for parts of New Zealand, including Great Barrier Island, Whangarei and Northland. It looks like the North Shore will not be affected, however there could be strong and unusual currents, unpredictable surges and high tides. Please keep away from beaches and waterways for now, and follow the Civil Defence website for the latest information:
