Frustrated with inaction from council, Kyle Aitken​ and other residents around Little Shoal Bay have built a temporary groyne to prove that a beach can be built-up there. They are now requesting that the pipe under the road is extended out to sea to help further protect the beach.
The Kaipātiki Local Board is due to discuss seawater issues at Little Shoal Bay Reserve at a June workshop.
