All of Northcote, Northcote Point and Birkenhead Point are now under a Controlled Area Notice (CAN), meaning that there are restrictions in place for the movement of home grown fruit and vegetables, including peelings, fruit stones, etc. The northern boundary of the CAN area runs along Rawene Road, Birkenhead Ave, Pupuke Rd, Raleigh Rd, Exmouth Rd.
If you live in Zone A (red circle) where the fruit fly was discovered, then there is a total ban on the movement of ALL fruit and vegetables (with some exceptions), including peelings, fruit stones, etc.
