The long-awaited realignment of track S18 at Kauri Glen Reserve/Cecil Eady Reserve is about to get underway!
This will involve the creation of a new track (shown on the map in red/yellow) that avoids kauri roots and comes closer to the school grounds (and the rectangular DOC land that the school uses). The existing track (green) has already been closed to prevent the spread of kauri dieback, and the existing steps and track edging will be removed as part of this project.
The work is estimated to be completed in May 2019.

Hi Damon. I’m really sorry for not getting back to you sooner. My understanding is it isn’t far off from being finished, and a re-opening event of some sort is being planned. Cheers 🙂
