Auckland Transport are proposing to convert 49 zebra crossings across Auckland into raised zebra crossings. The three proposed for the Kaipatiki area are around Willow Park School:
- 12 Compton Street
- 5 Sylvia Road
- 58 Eban Avenue
For Compton Street, propose to install a raised zebra crossing with new side islands and red ‘Slow’ boxes further along the road. This also involves the removal of a small number of on-street parking spaces to make sure that people using the crossing are visible to traffic.
For Sylvia Road and Eban Avenue, Auckland Transport propose to upgrade the existing crossings to raised zebra crossings that will be patrolled by Willow Park School during school start and finish times. This project involves high friction road surfacing on Eban Avenue and new lighting on Sylvia Road. It also involves the removal of a small number of on-street parking spaces to make sure that people using the crossings are visible to traffic.

Feedback closes 14 December.
Auckland Transport will respond to this feedback after the holiday period in late January. They are aiming to construct the projects between March and June 2019. Construction of a crossing takes about a week, and contractors will do their best to minimise any inconvenience this may cause.
