Unfortunately a row of 10 kauri at Chelsea Estate Heritage Park between the heritage cottages and the toilet block have had to be fenced off while testing for kauri dieback disease is carried out. The kauri had been planted to mark the purchase of the park in 2008, but have recently been weeping and are not in a good state.
We expect test results to be back in the next few weeks. It isn’t looking good, but fingers crossed.
