Last week Kaipatiki Local Board members undertook Kauri Dieback Certification at Fernglen Reserve to learn best-practice techniques when in a bush reserve containing kauri trees.
So far Pest Free Kaipatiki have trained 50 local volunteers to help ensure that rat-baiting and weed removal can continue safely without endangering our kauri trees.
While track and reserve closures are in place, only people who have successfully passed the certification process will be allowed in closed areas. If you believe that you require access to restricted areas for a legitimate reason, please contact Pest Free Kaipātiki who are administering the certification process on behalf of the Kaipatiki Local Board and Auckland Council.
