Dear Phil and Penny. We don’t need one dollar spent on a “PR blitz”. We just need a resolution of Council’s Finance Committee that North Shore parks and open spaces won’t be sold, whether to buy parks in other parts of Auckland, fill budget holes, or anything else.
You can start by declaring Rosie Bolt Reserve in Northcote Point safe and transfer it from Panuku to the Local Board (Panuku have temporarily put sale plans on hold after the Local Board resolved on a legal process to protect it, but it isn’t safe yet).
Then follow it up with a commitment not to carve up AF Thomas Reserve (Takapuna Golf) which is in a flood plane and needed for stormwater purposes.
