The Frank Larking’s Boat community steering group met for the first time last night to discuss how we would utilise community involvement to preserve the boat while keeping costs down. One of the first things that will be happening is the relocation of the boat from the beach to Larking’s Landing, and community offers, as well as council quotes, will be assessed later this month.
The steering group was established by the Kaipatiki Local Board and includes representatives from a range of local interest groups, including the Beach Haven Birkdale Residents Association, Beach Haven Placemaking Group, Birkdale Beach Haven Community Project INC, Save Frank Larkings boat, and the Kaipatiki Local Board.
