Auckland Transport is proposing to construct 10 new bus stops and relocate 2 bus stops across 9 locations for the purpose of implementing the New Network for North Shore.
This includes new bus stops on Kaipatiki Road to support the new service between Beach Haven and Glenfield
Below is a summary of the changes:
* 160 Hinemoa Street, Birkenhead – New bus stop.
* 169 Mokoia Road, Birkenhead – New bus stop and shelter.
* 44 Porritt Avenue, Chatswood – New bus stop and shelter.
* 1 Blenheim Street, Glenfield – New bus stop.
* 4 & 8 Blenheim Street, Glenfield – Relocation of bus stop from 4 to 8 Blenheim Street.
* Opposite 126 Kaipatiki Road, Glenfield – New bus stop and shelter on north side of road.
* 126 & 128 Kaipatiki Road, Glenfield – New bus stop on south side of road.
* 119 Kaipatiki Road, Glenfield – New pedestrian crossing facility at the existing median island.
* Opposite 38a Manuka Road, Glenfield – New bus stop and shelter.
* 115 & 119 Wairau Road, Wairau Valley – Relocation of bus stop from 119 to 115 Wairau Road.
* 122 Wairau Road, Wairau Valley – New bus stop and shelter.
* 120 Wairau Road, Wairau Valley – New pedestrian island refuge crossing.
* 324 Wairau Road, Totara Vale – New bus stop.
* 381 Wairau Road, Totara Vale – New pedestrian island refuge crossing.
* 383 Wairau Road, Totara Vale – New bus stop and shelter.
The proposal includes changes to the road on which the bus stops will be located such as the removal of on-street parking to accommodate for the new and/or relocated bus stops, the installation of No Stopping At All Times (NSAAT) parking restrictions to provide unobstructed manoeuvring for buses and new pedestrian island crossing facilities at some location.
Auckland Transport are only accepting feedback on the following:
* Any land development proposals or issues that may affect the proposed bus stop location and infrastructure,
* Any safety issues with the proposed bus stop location and infrastructure.
