At our public workshop last week, we were presented with some designs for a potential project to “daylight” the piped stream that goes under the southern end of Normanton Reserve, that may begin by the end of this year.
Council’s Healthy Waters team (formally the Stormwater Dept) are proposing to open the stream and create a new recreational and environmentally-friendly area.
Due to the depth of the stream, retaining walls would be built, but these would be designed and planted so that they would blend into the environment.
Part of the existing path would need to be raised a little, but would otherwise be in the same location as where it currently is. The fitness equipment (inc the two new pieces) will also remain.
