Due to deterioration of the wharf, Auckland Transport has closed Northcote Wharf, and Northcote ferries will not be operating until further notice 
The Local Board has been advocating for an upgraded, full-weather wharf for many years, however AT have recently scheduled it beyond the 10 year RLTP plan.
From Auckland Transport:
“Keeping public safety in mind and the expected bad weather approaching, Auckland Transport made the decision to close Northcote Wharf at 4pm on 20 June 2018. It will remain closed until further inspections and assessments are carried out within the next week (weather permitting).”
