From today, section S18 pictured in green will be closed due to the risk posed to the kauri roots throughout this section of Kauri Glen Reserve, Northcote.
A replacement track will be built over the next year with an alignment closer to the school boundary (shown in yellow/red), however the Kaipatiki Local Board has approved the closure of the existing track in advance to prevent the possible spread of kauri dieback disease. Until the new track is built, there are alternative routes that can be taken, however they may take a little longer. As with all of our vulnerable bush reserves, please stick to the tracks and respect any closures.
