Many of you have been getting caught in the traffic on Kaipatiki Road recently. The work is being done to upgrade the wastewater pipe that passes through the development site at 60 Kaipatiki Road to enable it to accommodate the new development of 96 dwellings. The pipe also carries wastewater from the Peach Rd, Powrie St, Stanley Rd (east) area, and the upgrade will allow for future development there.
The work is due to be completed on 20 December. However there will be another 2 weeks of work in early January (date to be confirmed) to install high voltage power for the site.
Meanwhile, the Kaipātiki Local Board recently adopted the following names for the two new public roads and two new private lanes that will be created as part of the new development:
- Wakatūria Way
- Ngakete Crescent
- Tāiko Lane
- Muriroa Lane.
The development at 60 Kaipatiki Rd is by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in partnership with the Marutūāhu iwi group.
