Very sad news that former Kaipātiki Local Board Deputy Chair Ann Hartley QSO has passed away. Ann was a member of the Local Board from 2013 until 2022 when she stepped down due to her health.

Prior to the Local Board, Ann was an inaugural Auckland Councillor, Mayor of Birkenhead City, the first Mayor of North Shore City, MP for Northcote and a North Shore City Councillor.
During her long service to North Shore communities, Ann was integral in many things we take for granted today, including our community centres, North Shore Events Centre, several large parks, and more.

My thoughts with her whanau at this time.
There will be a private funeral, however a public memorial is being planned for February.
