Mokoia Road, Birkenhead Town Centre:
Auckland Transport are currently carrying out work to replace three speed tables on Mokoia Road, between Birkenhead Avenue and Huka Road (see circled areas on attached map).
Work began on 28th April and will take approximately 2 weeks. A one-way detour is in affect 24/7 during the work.
The work includes:

• Reducing the height of the speed tables as they are higher than what is recommended by Auckland Transport’s Code of Practice.
• Installation of new tactile yellow pavers on the footpath to assist people with visual impairments.
• Associated upgrading of signage and crossing.
